Expanding work for the US Department of Defense and several of the top multinational chemical companies requires additions to Cerion’s Research & Development team.
Rochester, NY – Cerion announced today the hiring of Dr. Bo Zheng, Senior Scientist and Theresa Hendrick, Research Analyst.
Dr. Zheng joins Cerion’s R&D team, focused on the development of novel, high-performance nanoparticles for Cerion’s growing list of global customers. He received his B.S. from Northwest University, China in 2002 and his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Nanjing University, China in 2008. After graduation, he joined Professor Richard H. Holm’s group at Harvard University in 2009 where he investigated molybdenum/tungsten iron-sulfur clusters. Following his tenure at Harvard, Dr. Zheng joined Professor Liviu Mirica’s group at Washington University in St. Louis in 2012 focusing on the synthesis and the reactivity of organometallic Ni(III) complexes. In 2013, he joined Professor Richard Eisenberg’s group at the University of Rochester where he worked on the development of catalysts for the photo-generation of hydrogen using visible light with platinum chromophores and titanium dioxide.
Ms. Hendrick will support the R&D team’s work with in-depth technical research into new materials and product applications for Cerion’s expanding portfolio of nanomaterials. She began her career as a product development and senior technical support specialist at VWR Education, a global provider of science education products and services, before becoming a Research Fellow under the support of the National Science Foundation. Ms. Hendrick has been trained in diverse sciences, with a focus in materials science. Ms. Hendrick received her American Chemical Society Certified B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Tampa. She received her Master of Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
